La Horra Winery initiates expansion work on its new sustainable winery integrated into the landscape in Ribera del Duero.
La Horra Winery, situated in the Ribera del Duero Designation of Origin (DO), is designed by Carme Pinós, the recipient of the 2021 National Architecture Award, following sustainability criteria. The winery is set to invest 9.5 million euros, as stated in a press release.
The project aims to create a seamless landscape where the winery, vineyards, and tasting area become an inseparable emblem of the wine produced. To achieve this, the entire production space is buried within the small mound that borders the vineyards. This decision contributes to climate control throughout the year. One could almost say that the project establishes a symbiosis with the land.
