JVC Parking in El Bajío
Guadalajara, Mexico
After presenting the project for the trade fair complex, we were asked to build a parking lot on a plot next to it.
Again our concern was the empty space. We didn’t want to create a place that, when there were no cars, would be simply waiting for them. We decided to bury the parking by building, at street level, a new landscape.
A series of cuts on the roof slab show the sinuous lines of the circulation of vehicles. We
accompany these paths with trees whose tops, along with the hillocks covering the slab, will be mixed with the vision of the fairgrounds that we have transformed into a park.
