La Ribera Seafront
Sitges (Barcelona), Spain
The idea is to turn the entire section of the promenade into a garden where people can stroll. We eliminate strict boundaries, hard lines, and abrupt changes in elevation. To achieve more fluid and appealing spaces, we incorporate the sea as part of this garden.
We start with the concept that vehicular traffic will strictly serve as a service. Therefore, the road has sinuous boundaries, sometimes occupied by flower beds that reduce the idea of fast circulation.
The pavement will be continuous stone throughout the section without differentiation, except where vehicles can pass through.
Basic furniture, concrete benches, will be part of the retaining walls that configure the changes in elevation. Other types of standalone benches may also be considered as the project develops.
