In this year’s edition, La Fundació awards the Splendor Award to Carme Pinós in recognition of her career and professional dedication.
On the occasion of the celebration of La Mare de Déu d’agost and as part of the Splendor of the Mediterrania festivities, since 2007, the Amics del Patrimoni Foundation pays tribute to women and presents the Splendor Award to those who, through their work and commitment to culture, stand out in the island’s social landscape.
Fundació Amics del Patrimoni is a non-profit foundation whose members belong to various cultural fields. Its mission is to foster an ongoing dialogue within Majorcan society with the intent of preserving and safeguarding the cultural heritage of the Islands. The foundation is dedicated to encouraging and promoting the cultural development of the Balearic Islands by revitalizing its heritage through historical, archaeological, architectural, artistic, and scientific research.
Since 2003, on the occasion of the annual celebration of the Assumption, Fundació Amics del Patrimoni has expanded its initiative by inviting contemporary visual artists to interpret, through the creation of an installation in a church, this poetically and deeply rooted tradition in Mallorca that celebrates the temporary sleep of the Virgin. This endeavor aims to bridge tradition and contemporaneity, intending to convey to the spectator the essence of the universal significance of art.
