Office Building at Córsega Street
Barcelona, Spain
The refurbishment of an office building on Calle Córcega 255 preserves the existing structure as well as its volume, altering only the vertical communications core. The whole project is developed around this decision.
We placed the courtyard that was necessary for ventilation on the facade and in this way allowed light to reach the building, illuminating the workspaces. This courtyard takes light and air to the staircase, built entirely out of glass to transform it into a large lamp of natural light.
On the street façade, stainless steel rolling meshes cover the glass front with sinuous movements, following the rhythm of the domestic scale of the houses in the Eixample. With this spirit of remaining close to this domestic scale, the planters are placed alternately in our office building.
