Sports Center in Sarriguren
Valle de Egüés (Navarra), Spain
The project starts from the purpose of not creating just a big container of the program but a building which is defined by both its relation with the exterior and the good functioning of its program.
The project is best defined from its section: a ground level closed with curved walls made out of brick which form entrance areas and at the same time provide a singularity to the non competitive spaces like the zones of the spa, the relax area and the bar. The ceiling of this level gives us the possibility to create terraces and viewpoints towards the landscape and the exterior sports facilities, as well as a solarium with wooden flooring.
The rest of the program, more competitive and regulated, is packed in two levels in a more orthogonal way, below a tin cover supported by a structure of big wooden beams.
