JVC Fairground in El Bajío
Guadalajara, Mexico
Our client wanted to develop a large cultural and business center on a vast territory of 300 hectares on the outskirts of Guadalajara. The studio was commissioned to build a trade show complex made up of several buildings, as well as roofs to cover the different stands of the fair.
We used the trade fair buildings as connections with the rest of the complex. We conceived them as bridges that start within the trade fair grounds and span the road that borders on the site to define a plaza together with the cultural center.
From the base of the bridge-buildings we can cross the park in diagonal through a passageway clad with self-bearing concrete ribbons that will cover the different stands and restaurants of the fair. Trees of different colors accompany us along this path.
At night, the translucid facades of the buildings, held from the arches, will become lamps that illuminate the entrance to the park.
